This course is for software developers looking to automate network infrastructure and/or utilize APIs and toolkits to interface with SDN controllers and individual devices.



Önkoşullar

The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this course are as follows:

  • Experience with network management (CCNP-level recommended)
  • Complete the Cisco Network Programmability for Engineers with Python (BTNPCwP) training or equivalent Python programming experience

Module 1: Cisco Network Programming for ACI with Python (Advanced)

 

  • A short memo for Web Services, Restful APIs, XML and JSON Processing
  • Using Python to manage ACI over REST API

Module 2 : Using Ansible with Cisco Network Products

  • Installation of ansible for everybody

Module 3 : Introduction to Python Web Frameworks

 

  • Web frameworks, what are they used for?

Module 4 : Introduction to Elastic Stack

 

  • How to use a distributed, RESTful search and analytics engine for Networking Applications and Logging Applications

    • Beats

  • A sample ADM (Application Dependency Mapping) exercise.

Module 5 : Regular Expressions with Python (Optional)

 

  • Foundation for regular expressions
  • Regular expressions for parsing Cisco configurations files
  • Regular expressions for parsing web based config files (i.e Checkpoint)


Kurs Hedefleri

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of networking, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting, functions of infrastructure components in a network, and the need for network programmability.
  • Review data handling and formats.
  • Have knowledge of Cisco ACI, APIC-EM and Open SDN Controller technologies and conceptual frameworks, as well as how to make REST and Python requests.
  • Interpret and produce code to deploy configurations to multiple devices using RESTConf and NETConf.
  • Identify available network programmability developer tools and Cisco virtual platforms.
